On the last day of 2020, Elsewedy Electric received His Highness Sheikh Dr. SULTAN BIN MUHAMMAD AL QASIMI, Ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates, at the company’s Al Layyah 1,026 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant. His Highness Sheikh Dr. SULTAN BIN MUHAMMAD AL QASIMI, Ruler of Sharjah, reviewed the progress that Elsewedy Electric, as the Main EPC Contractor in Consortium with Mitsubishi Power, made on the UAE’s first EPC+F in power sector project.

Al Layyah 1,026 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant is approximately 65% completed with a scheduled first connection to the grid in the third quarter this year. The Chairman & CEO of Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, with SEWA's Board and top management welcomed H. H. at the site.
