Elsewedy Industrial Development and Crystal International Attract USD 350 Million Textile Investment to Egypt

Elsewedy Industrial Development has reinforced its role as a key enabler of Egypt’s industrial sector through the signing of a major land agreement to establish an integrated spinning and textile complex at Industria October Industrial City in New October City. 

The agreement, signed between Elsewedy Industrial Development and Crystal International Group Limited, one of the world’s leading textile manufacturers, was witnessed by H.E. Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Transport, and Minister of Industry, highlighting the strategic importance of the project within Egypt’s growth agenda. 

Developed over an area of 800,000 square meters, the project will see initial investments of approximately USD 350 million, positioning it among the largest textile investments in the region. The fully integrated complex will cover the entire production value chain, including spinning of natural and synthetic fibers, yarn production, advanced weaving, as well as textile processing, dyeing, and finishing. 

By consolidating these operations within a single location, the project is set to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate the global competitiveness of Egyptian textile products, while adhering to high standards of sustainability and resource efficiency. 

The development is expected to generate approximately 20,000 direct job opportunities, supporting national efforts to create sustainable employment and develop specialized industrial capabilities in one of Egypt’s most strategic sectors.
