Elsewedy Industrial Development and Xinmin Glass Break Ground on Glass Plant

Elsewedy Industrial Development has marked the launch of a new manufacturing project, as Xinmin Glass Factory, a leading Chinese glass manufacturer, lays the foundation stone for its new facility within SOKHNA360 Industrial City. The milestone event was attended by Dr. Tarek El-Shazly, Governor of Suez; Ahmed Gamal, Vice Chairman for the Southern Zone; Eng. Mohamed AlKammah, CEO of Elsewedy Industrial Development; Mr. Zhao Xinmin, CEO of Xinmin China; Mr. Mohamed Mostafa, CFO of Elsewedy Industrial Development; Eng. Islam Soliman, General Manager of Projects; and Ms. Yara Adel, Head of Sales and Business Development. 

This project will be developed over a total area of 163,000 square meters, with planned investments of approximately USD 70 million across three phases. It represents a new addition to the growing industrial ecosystem within SOKHNA360, further reinforcing its role as a destination for large-scale manufacturing investments. 

Upon completion of all phases, the factory is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 360,000 tons, generating around USD 250 million in yearly revenue. The project will also create more than 3,000 direct job opportunities, contributing to local economic development and supporting Egypt’s industrial growth ambitions. 

Eng. Mohamed AlKammah, CEO of Elsewedy Industrial Development, stated: “This project reflects the continued momentum we are building at SOKHNA360, attracting leading international manufacturers and enabling them to establish and scale their operations within a fully integrated industrial environment. Our partnership with Xinmin Glass adds further depth to the industrial base we are developing, while creating tangible economic value through job creation and production growth.” 

Developed and operated by Elsewedy Industrial Development, SOKHNA360 continues to attract strategic investments across key industrial sectors, supported by its integrated infrastructure and prime location within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
