Elsewedy Electric Foundation Signs Agreement to Advance Technical Education in Egypt

Elsewedy Electric Foundation has signed a cooperation agreement with Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE) to support the development, operation, and management of the Belbeis Centre of Competence (COC), reinforcing its role in advancing technical education and workforce development in Egypt. 

The agreement comes within the framework of the “Technical Education for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency” project, funded by KfW Development Bank and the European Union, and implemented by MoETE in collaboration with GOPA-Tech. This initiative aims to establish an integrated and sustainable model for Centres of Competence, supporting the development of specialized skills aligned with the evolving needs of the energy sector. 

Through Elsewedy Electric Foundation and its flagship Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA), the company continues to play a leading role in transforming vocational education in Egypt. The partnership builds on a longstanding collaboration with MoETE focused on developing Schools of Applied Technology that combine academic learning with hands-on, industry-driven training. 

Elsewedy Electric’s initiatives in this space include the management of multiple applied technology schools across Egypt, offering three-year diplomas accredited by MoETE alongside internationally recognized certifications. The company also contributes to the establishment of Centres of Competence in key locations such as Belbeis, Aswan, and Minya, with a strong focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency. 

“Investing in technical education is essential to building a skilled workforce capable of supporting Egypt’s industrial and energy transformation,” said Eng.
