Elsewedy Electric and AMMC Sign MoU to Explore Cable Manufacturing Facility in Uzbekistan
Elsewedy Electric has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSC Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC), a leading global force in the copper and metals industry, to jointly explore the development of a cable manufacturing facility in Uzbekistan. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum 2026, with the MoU signed by Mr. Abdelaziz Elgamal, General Manager, CIS & Balkans at Elsewedy Electric, and Mr. KhursanovAbdulloKhalmuradovich, Chairman of the Board of AMMC.
The agreement aims to meet the region's growing demand for cable solutions while supporting sustainable industrial development and strengthening regional supply chains. It represents an important milestone for the Group in Central Asia, with the initiative led by Mr. Abdelaziz Bashandy, CIS Regional Head, and Ms. Mariam Tawfeek, Business Development Senior Specialist.
The strategic collaboration reflects Elsewedy Electric's commitment to expanding its global manufacturing footprint and delivering long-term value through resilient, innovative infrastructure in new and growing markets.
