Elsewedy Electric PSP leads the successful completion of UAE's layyah power plant steam blow phase

Kamel El Wazir, Ministry of Transportation and the National Authority of Tunnels has awarded the High-Speed Rail Green Line project to a joint venture comprising The Arab Contractors of Egypt, Elsewedy Electric Power Systems Projects (PSP), and Orascom. The project will utilize Siemens electric trains to connect major cities in Egypt through a network of 21 stations. 

Elsewedy Electric PSP, a key player in the joint venture, is tasked with the construction and testing of seven stations along the route: New Capital, Wadi El Natroun, Giza, Sidi Abdel Rahman, El Dabaa, Ras El Hekma, and Marsa Matrouh. 

The high-speed rail route spans from Ain Sokhna to October Gardens, branching south to Al-Ayat to link with a second line, and north to Alexandria, Alamein, and Marsa Matrouh. Covering approximately 675 km and featuring 21 stations (13 high-speed train stations and 8 regional stations), the project is slated for completion within 36 months. The design speed is set at 250 km/h, with electric express trains operating at 230 km/h, regional electric trains at 160 km/h, and electric freight tractors at 120 km/h. 

The awarding of this prestigious project marks a significant milestone for the joint venture, opening doors to new growth opportunities and showcasing their expertise as construction and service providers in the mobility sector.
