Thermal Power Plant

Thermal power plants convert heat energy into electrical energy. The main configurations are:

  • Simple cycle power plant
  • Combined cycle power plant
  • Diesel engine power plant

We can undertake all engineering, procurement and construction of the power plant including mechanical Balance of Plant (BOP) and electrical BOP, from heat exchanger, compressors, pumps, valves, pipes to HVAC, fire protection, steam sampling, heat tracing and communication systems.

SIMPLE CYCLE POWER PLANT

A low-capital cost solution for power generation. Our work involves the design, supply, construction and commissioning.

COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT

This is the most efficient type of power plant, using both a gas and a steam turbine to deliver 60% greater efficiency as well as lower operating costs and fuel consumption. Elsewedy Electric have extensive experience in combined cycle power plants. We helped to build the biggest combined cycle plant in Egypt as well as plants elsewhere in Africa and the Gulf. We can manage the EPC of civil works and site preparation, EPC of all balance of plant equipment and systems, erection works and testing and commissioning.

DIESEL ENGINE POWER PLANT

In this configuration a diesel engine drives an alternator to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. Despite the high cost of diesel fuel, diesel power stations are suitable in areas of low demand or where coal and water are hard to access. They are also used as a standby power source for hospitals, radio stations, cinemas and telephone exchanges.

Rabigh Combined Cycle Power Plant

Rabigh Reinforcement 1.2 Giga-Watt Combined Cycle Power Plant

The consortium of ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC PSP and Siemens Energy signs an EPC contract with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to build Rabigh Reinforcement 1.2 Giga-Watt Combined Cycle Power Plant

  • Turnkey EPC expansion of the existing power plant by adding 1.2 GW Combined Cycle Plant
  • Commercial operation scheduled in phases from June 2025 till June 2026
  • The project will supply electric power to approximately 500,000 residential unit annually

In a consortium with Siemens Energy, ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC PSP inks a contract with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning (EPC), and startup, of the turnkey Reinforcement of Rabigh 1.2 GW Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) project in the city of Rabigh, in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a value exceeding USD 1 bn.

The project is located around 135 kilometers north of Jeddah city and will feature a combined-cycle power block in multi-shaft configuration. The power block comprises of: three (3) SGT6-5000f heavy duty gas turbines with three (3) SGen6-1000a air-cooled generators, three (3) heat recovery steam generators, one (1) SST-5000 series HI-L steam turbine with one (1) SGen6-3000W water-cooled generator, and water-cooled condenser.

ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC PSP scope of work includes the design, engineering, procurement, construction, permitting, testing, and commissioning of a new gas-fired CCGT power plant using Siemens Energy’s state-of-the-art technology for the main equipment, high-efficiency gas turbines, steam turbine, generators, and their auxiliaries.

The Saudi power procurement company (SPPC), as the principal buyer of the produced capacity of power projects in Saudi Arabia, constantly evaluates the chance to develop and expand the existing generation projects to further enhance and grow the capabilities to meet the power demand and ensure the reliability of the power supply to address the remarkable growth in Saudi Arabia’s electricity consumption toward the achievement of vision 2030.

Structured cabling is the passive infrastructure that supports the transmission of data, voice, and video signals in a building or campus. It consists of various components, including twisted pair cables, fiber optic cables, and cable accessories. Twisted pair cables are the most common type of cabling used in structured cabling systems. They are composed of two insulated copper conductors that are twisted together to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). The most common types of twisted pair cables used in structured cabling are UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) and FTP (Foiled Twisted Pair). Fiber optic cables are another type of cabling used in structured cabling systems. They are made up of glass or plastic cores that transmit light signals. Fiber optic cables are generally used for long distances or high-bandwidth applications. Structured cabling systems typically include a variety of components, such as closures, patch panels, outlets, modules, racks, and cabinets. Closures are used to terminate and splice cables. Patch panels are used to connect cables to other network devices. Outlets are used to provide access to the network for end users. Modules are used to connect cables to patch panels. Racks and cabinets are used to house and organize cabling components. The type of cabling and components used in a structured cabling system will depend on the specific needs of the network.
