Solar technology is the fastest-growing renewable technology across the Middle East and Africa. Driven by a growing demand for clean energy, solar offers limitless carbon-free electricity and thermal energy. The most commonly used system is photovoltaic (PV) solar, which is scalable and adaptable to different applications and situations.

Whether you are a utility company or commercial enterprise, our hallmark turnkey solutions will oversee your project from design to commissioning and maintenance.

  • Design
  • Procurement, including cost-efficient local procurement of DC & AC components
  • Installation: for remote sites we have developed a Track Installer to install, commission and start up PV-50MWac
  • Project management: an integrated PV package including panel installation, DC cabling, inverter installation, connection and commissioning, AC cabling, transformer installation and connection to HT grid

One of the World’s biggest solar parks in Benban

Elsewedy Electric have joined forces with EDF (Electricité de France) to develop, finance, build and operate two solar PV power plants in Benban and Kom Ombo, Aswan Province. With a colossal 130 (2x65) MWp, the estimated annual 290 GWh of electricity will power over 140,000 households while saving over 120,000 tons of CO2. Benban is a flagship project for the Egyptian government’s Renewable Energies Feed-in-Tariff program.

$45 million solar PV project to power the capital of South Sudan

We are building a hybrid solar photovoltaic project on 250,000 m2 of land near Juba, South Sudan. The plant will be operational by late-2020. The project comprises a 20 MWP photovoltaic park, a 35 megawatts-hour battery storage system, and an in-house training center. We will handle the project's engineering, procurement, and installation – a first for the region. Financed by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the estimated 29 million kWh of clean energy produced will power over 58,000 households while saving 12,000 tons of CO2 annually.

300 MW Saad Solar PV Project Jinko - KSA

Elsewedy Electric a leader in integrated infrastructure solutions, has announced its partnership with Al-Ghazala Energy Company, the KSA-based subsidiary of Jinko Power Technology Co., Ltd. to assist Saudi Arabia in reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

The project will contribute to KSA's Vision for utilizing 50% green power by 2030 and will reduce Riyadh's CO2 emissions by more than 0.5 million metric tons/year. EETD, a subsidiary of EE, has signed an EPC contract for the 300 MW Saad Photovoltaic Solar Independent Power Producer Project located east of Riyadh City under the third round of competitive tenders of Saudi Arabia's National Renewable Energy Programme (NREP).

Through this full-wrap turnkey pact, EETD shall competently manage the design, supply and construction works and perform operation and maintenance for initial years.

Leveraging our world-renowned EPC and O&M capacities we are privileged to be playing a leading role in implementing KSA’s Saad PV power plant. The ingenious team at EETD shall build, operate as well as maintain such state-of-the-art solar power generation facilities while dexterously connecting them into national grids.
