77 MWp PV Power Plant in South Africa’s Lephalale Solar Project

After the approval by South Africa’s National Energy Regulator (NERSA), EETD has been awarded the construction of the 77 MWp PV Power Plant Lephalale Solar Project with Cennergi Holdings, a subsidiary ofSouth African mining company Exxaro Resources.

 

Our scope of work will include the engineering, procurement & construction of a 77 MWp photovoltaic powerplant, 5 years O&M, 33kV/132 substation, and OHTL 132 kV (2x4.5) KM. The solar farm will be on a 236-hectare site in the Waterberg district, owned by Exxaro and adjacent to its Grootegeluk mining complex in Limpopo province, which aims to supply clean electricity to Exxaro’s flagship Grootegeluk mine. Cennergi will sell the electricity generated to this subsidiary of Exxaro Resources under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
