ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC INDONESIA PARTICIPATATION  IN THE INDONESIA PETROLEUM ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION (IPA CONVEX) 2023

JAKARTA. 2023 The 47th IPA Convex (Indonesia Petroleum Association Conference and Exhibition) was held on July 25-27, 2023, at the ICE BSD in South Tangerang, focusing on the theme of "Enabling Oil and Gas Investment and Energy Transition for Energy Security."

The event, was officially opened by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Arifin Tasrif, as he highlighted that oil and gas continue to play a vital role in meeting global energy needs, noting  the growth in the production and consumption of Oil and Gas over the previous ten years.

 

"This demonstrates that, even during the current energy transition era, oil and natural gas continue to play a role in meeting affordable and reliable global energy needs, particularly in the transportation and industrial sectors, in line with economic growth and an increasing population, particularly in developing countries," said Arifin at the start of the Convex event.

 

As a manufacturer of power transformers up to 500kV and a provider of End-to-End solution services for infrastructure construction and power transformers includingdesign, manufacture, delivery, commissioning, installation, and servicing, Elsewedy Electric Indonesia (Elsewedy) is ready to support the upstream oil and gas industry with reliable products and quality power transformers.

 

Hany Gamal, President Director of Elsewedy Electric Indonesia, stated the company was recognized for the implementation of the joint assessment and development program for domestic goods and services supporting upstream oil and gas business activities. Elsewedy received this commendation from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for its ability to support oil and gas companies while also boosting the capability of local producers and TKDN (the level of domestic content).

Hany Gamal added, "This appreciation also strengthens Elsewedy Electric Indonesia's position as a manufacturer and supplier of power transformer products that are prepared to raise the standard of domestic electricity product TKDN."

 

The Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA), an organization of firms operating in Indonesia's upstream oil and gas industry, organizes IPA Convex activities periodically.

 

IPA is a non-profit organization that was established in 1971 and is a significant participant in the upstream oil and gas industry sector. It has 42 corporate members from across all the country's oil and gas producers, 107 association members, and more than 1,000 individual members.

 

In order to advance the development of the upstream oil and gas industry in Indonesia, IPA works with the government to develop appropriate policies and to facilitate consultation, coordination, and collaboration among important stakeholders, the government, and their agencies.
